Metropolis Councilman Corey Johnson seems to have secured sufficient help to win the race for Metropolis Council speaker, sources stated Wednesday.
Democratic county leaders have been finalizing a deal to again Johnson, a Manhattan Democrat, for the put up — and their help will seemingly convey the votes of sufficient Council members to place Johnson excessive.
The speaker selection is not going to be official till the Council votes in January. However Johnson and county leaders have been telling allies Wednesday morning the deal was in place, sources stated.
