An influence firm exec panicked after his colleague mentioned he had employed a political operative’s spouse, exclaiming âyou are scaring the s– out of meâ based on testimony Thursday.
Sean Finnerty, a senior vice chairman with Aggressive Energy Ventures, made the four-letter disclosure within the trial in opposition to former Gov. Cuomo aide Joseph Percoco.
Peter Galbraith Kelly, an ex-exec with Aggressive Energy Ventures, is accused of paying Percoco’s spouse $287,000 for a bogus instructing gig â within the hopes of touchdown profitable state contracts.
In a July 2014 telephone name, Kelly allegedly instructed Finnerty that Percoco’s spouse had a $7,500-per-month job with CPV â which was paid by way of a subcontractor.
“I did not know who they have been. I used to be instructed that Lisa Percoco was the husband â I am sorry â was the spouse of Joseph Percoco, who both was on the time or had been an aide to Governor Cuomo in New York,” Finnerty recalled.
“So, , I requested if that’s one thing we will do, can we try this. Braith’s response was, ‘There’s nothing unlawful about it. Now we have an ethics opinion on it. Now we have had the attorneys take a look at it.'”
“At that time limit, I imagine I mentioned, ‘You are scaring the s— out of me, Braith,'” Finnerty mentioned. “At the moment I mentioned, ‘What the f—, Braith?’â
