A New York Submit reporter was busted Tuesday for shoving a site visitors agent over a parking ticket within the East Village Monday, police stated.
Joseph Marino, 37, stepped out of a restaurant on E. 2nd St. close to Ave. B and noticed NYPD Site visitors Enforcement Agent Rosena Graham writing him a summons for his double-parked automobile round three:45 p.m., police stated.
The seething scribe lined his registration sticker together with his hand so she couldn’t see it, cops stated.
The pair argued and Marino allegedly pushed her proper shoulder and ripped the ticket out of her hand.
Graham was not injured throughout the scuffle, cops stated.
“She’s doing okay. She was shaken. She was shocked that she was assaulted like that. She was simply doing her job,” stated Sokunbi Olufemi, Government Vice President of CWA Native 1182, the union that represents site visitors brokers.
Whereas it isn’t unusual for his members to get roughed up, Olufemi was shocked to listen to who was accountable.
“I need him to know that she has a job to do. As a person it’s important to respect a girl doing her job. For someone who’s supposedly knowledgeable journalist to assault a authorities employee like that’s unspeakable. We count on that from somebody who is just not educated, not somebody who is meant to know proper from mistaken,” Olufemi stated.
Marino was charged with harassment and obstructing authorities administration, police stated.
