U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stated Wednesday that President Trump would take a UN Normal Meeting vote on a decision criticizing his choice to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel’s capital “personally.”

Haley defended her boss in a letter to most of the UN’s 193 member states.

She stated the Trump administration is “merely asking that you just acknowledge the historic friendship, partnership, and assist we now have prolonged and respect our choice about our personal embassy.”

The letter drew sharp criticism from the Turkish and Palestinian overseas ministers who accused the U.S. of intimidation.

Trump issued his personal menace, saying that the U.S. might reduce off funding to nations that approve the decision.
