After the TV legend delivered a robust speech on the Golden Globes Sunday evening, Oprah Winfrey seems like she’s racking up votes for the subsequent presidential election.
Winfrey was offered with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, making her the primary black girl honored for the reason that award’s inception in 1952.
“What I do know for positive is that talking your reality is probably the most highly effective instrument all of us have. And I’m particularly proud and impressed by all the ladies who’ve felt robust sufficient and empowered sufficient to talk up and share their private tales. Every of us on this room are celebrated due to the tales that we inform. And this 12 months we turned the story,” she stated on stage.
“Nevertheless it’s not only a story affecting the leisure business. It’s one which transcends any tradition, geography, race, faith, politics, or office. The empowering speech, which ended with a standing ovation from Hollywood’s best, drew cries for Winfrey to ascend to the next airplane: the Oval Workplace.
“The one factor @Oprah’s speech was lacking: ‘… and I announce my candidacy!’” tweeted radio host JoJo Wright.
“Whether or not she runs or not, @oprah has already given the most effective marketing campaign speech of the 2020 cycle,” tweeted The Black Checklist founder Franklin Leonard.
Even Stedman Graham, Winfrey’s longtime companion, hinted that she could possibly be satisfied.
“It is as much as the individuals,” he stated backstage after the speech.
“She would completely do it.”
