COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Catholic diocese in Ohio says a parish priest beneath investigation for “questionable” communications with a minor and doable misuse of church funds killed himself.
The Catholic Diocese of Columbus stated in an announcement Thursday that the Rev. James Csaszar killed himself Wednesday in Chicago. Csaszar was pastor of Church of the Resurrection within the Columbus suburb of New Albany.
The diocese’s assertion says Csaszar was positioned on administrative go away final month when officers realized of “extreme and questionable” textual content and cellphone communications with a minor and doable misuse of funds whereas pastor at St. Rose of Lima Parish in New Lexington.
The Ohio Bureau of Legal Investigation started trying into Csaszar after the diocese realized of the allegations and contacted police in New Lexington, roughly 55 miles southeast of Columbus.
